How did it all begin?
We keep hearing news on what's safe and what’s not for the body, We notice dispirited young adults, children with allergies and deadly diseases, bacteria and viruses growing stronger day by day. Why do we go only for cure, why not prevention? Is it wise to search for a needle we lost inside our house on the street because there is more light on the street? Absolutely not. We must find it where we lost it.
We realised, it’s Indian villages that can offer all these natural products. Ancient Indians were always known for leading a healthy life. So how did they do it? This quest for an answer led us to rural India and its offerings.
A year ago, our interaction with an auto driver Mallikarjun left us frozen. Traditionally a weaver from a small village in Karnataka struggling to meet ends in Bangalore by driving an Auto. Hari, a master weaver from Ambasamudram is working in a transport company in Chennai due to non-availability of threads. This awakened the curiosity in us, and we started speaking to several workers, security guards, cooks in Bangalore and Chennai..
The same villagers who once offered us healthy, valuable products in the past are today wearing discarded old T-shirts and Jeans, eating food on plastic plates and foils. They lost their livelihood, while we lost our health. The urge to reverse this trend led Srinath and Ramya, mid-level leaders in IT to start Butyfulme.
We look forward to every individual being Beautiful in his/her TRUE sense, not just on syntax. Hence we misspelt Butyfulme with "However mispelt you are Butyful" tagline.
